The town of Blowing Rock turns 137 years old. The Blowing Rock Historical Society presents special markers in town, in town hall.

The Blowing Rock Trout Derby is now in its 46th year. The Derby is a  fishing event held around Blowing Rock. Participants can win prizes for fish size. See web site for detailed information.  The dates for the derby are May 2, 2026
